About

About the campaign

Save Meia Praia is a community-led, non-partisan campaign seeking transparent planning, proper environmental scrutiny and responsible protection of the Meia Praia coastal landscape.

Organising principles

  1. 01We publish evidence, not accusations.
  2. 02We label what is verified, what is reported and what is unanswered.
  3. 03We are non-partisan and support no party or candidate.
  4. 04We oppose neither tourism nor investment; we ask for lawful process and proper assessment.
  5. 05We correct errors publicly and promptly.
  6. 06We do not publish private personal data.

Governance

The campaign is run by volunteers. Decisions on publication are taken by a small coordinating group; every published document is checked by at least two people before it goes live. Contact details for the coordinating group are below.

Financial transparency

We are committed to providing financial transparency as donations are received. Once donations begin, income and expenditure will be published here, itemised and restricted to independent environmental and legal review.

Conflict-of-interest disclosure

No member of the coordinating group has a commercial interest in the site, in a competing development, or in any organisation named on this site. Any change to that position will be disclosed here.

Contact

General enquiries, evidence and document requests all come to us through the contact form on this site. We read every message and reply as quickly as a volunteer team can.

Media contact

Journalists are welcome to reach us through the contact form, choosing the press option, for documents and comment. We will say what we know, what we do not know, and which is which.

Our evidence standard

Every statement on this site carries one of four labels. We publish documents where we have them, we mark reported information as reported, and we keep unanswered questions visible as questions. Where we are wrong, we correct the record and record the correction.

Disclaimer

This campaign does not allege that any person or organisation has acted unlawfully. Statements about legality are made only where established by official evidence or a decision of a court. We make no personal accusations and publish no private personal data.
